Lars Mikkelsen-1Lars Dittmann Mikkelsen (born 6 May 1964) is a Danish actor from Denmark. He has played Troels Hartmann (Copenhagen mayoral candidate) in The Killing and [1] Charles Augustus Magnussen (third series of Sherlock), the Russian president Viktor Petrov on Netflix's American House of Cards, and Grand Admiral Thrawn from Star Wars Rebels. He was given the Reumert Prize of Honour in the year 2011. When he was 27, he enrolled at National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated from there in 1995. In addition to his role in the drama show telecast internationally as The Killing, He was later featured in two more internationally well-known Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III. He also played a lead role in an episode of BBC drama Sherlock as the blackmailer, Charles Augustus Magnussen.In the American television show House of Cards, he was the president of Russia. In 2018, he was awarded an International Emmy Award. His part in Danish TV drama Herrens Veje was rewarded with an International Emmy Award. The show aired in the UK in the year 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm.
