Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress across Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress aged 11 years old, making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name was Anna Helene Paquin. Born July 24th 1982 in Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was a Canadian native New Zealand actress. As a child, Paquin won an Academy Award for best support actress. Her performance as the talkative and inquisitive character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) brought her the award. Following a prompt to auditions open at age nine, and with little prior experience acting, she won Flora McGrath's role. Flora is the daughter of an Scottish pianist who was mute. The couple were relocated from Scotland to New Zealand during the middle of the nineteenth century to arrange a marriage. The actress moved from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin had the role of lead in the film Fly Away Home in 1996 and had a minor part in the film as Jane Eyre when she was just a young child. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 television movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and also played a part as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The actress played teenagers on the screen in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
