Lee Roy Selmon's existence includes football scholarships, family involvement and involvement in the community. The first line of his family was that his father was the youngest of nine kids raised by Eufala with Lucious Selmon. Two soccer. He is among the three brothers that played for Oklahoma. Three brothers all made All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in the entire nation. In three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. The team also took home 2 national titles. Third scholarship he was named as a National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete in 1975. Selmon earned a degree as an educator. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in college. After graduation, he landed in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was the all-pro 3 times, and began an entrepreneurial career. In 1988, while working as an account liaison officer for First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the 10 most notable young men in the country. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. In his time at college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993, he became the associate director of Athletics at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988. He was also named to the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. were awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma presented the award.
